Our Basic Training in Divorce Mediation meets the initial training requirements for membership of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators.

Our 40-hour Basic Training also includes two hours of introduction to Domestic Violence issues, as required by both the Association for Conflict Resolution and the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation.

Approved under Part 146 by the NYS Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Programs

Our Basic Training in Divorce Mediation is approved for 40 hours under Part 146 by the NYS Unified Court System’s Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs, consisting of 24 hours of basic training and 16 hours of advanced training in Divorce Mediation

  • Final placement on any court roster is at the discretion of the local Administrative Judge, and participation in a course does not guarantee placement on a local court roster.
  • Some courts may require additional training and experience beyond Part 146’s requirements.
  • Acceptance on court rosters may depend on a court’s need for mediators at any given time and may include a particular court’s need for mediators with specific case-type training or experience.

CLEs for Attorneys

New York State Continuing Legal Education Board: 41 hours. This program (online and in-person) has *pending approval* in accordance with the requirements of the NYS CLE Board for 41 CLE credit hours distributed in the following manner:

  • Ethics and Professionalism: 0.5 Credit Hour
  • Skills: 20.5 Credit Hours
  • Practice Management: 1.5 Credit Hour
  • Areas of Professional Practice: 18.5 Credit Hours

This course is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.

New Jersey State Board of Attorney Certification (for Certified Matrimonial Attorneys): 42 hours. The New Jersey State Board of Attorney Certification has approved this training for 42 continuing education credits for Certified Matrimonial Attorneys.

CEUs for Mental Health Professionals

Satisfactory Completion: In order to receive a certificate, participants must:

  • Pay a tuition fee
  • Sign in and out each day
  • Attend the entire seminar
  • Complete an evaluation

Failure to sign in or out each day will result in forfeiture of credit for the entire course. No exceptions will be made. Partial credit is not available.
